It's Friday!

It's the end of the work week again... Yipee! Oh.. Yesterday I saw my muslim boss having the same YIPEE lighter that Jen gave me. Guess it's a popular item in malaysia. Went to see Ian last night. He's so cute lah... Though abit shy when he saw me.. but still smiling all the way with his eyes closed. Abit taller than the last I saw him and more obedient. He could even write A-Z... Seeing him grow up makes you feel old isn't it.

To my sister, I think it was quite a disaster yesterday. As "ppl" in the house wasn't very helpful in welcoming guests. Eveything my sister also must do herself.. Couldn't find bedsheets, pillow case, etc. She was like "I wanna go home"... Wanted to come stay over my house but my area too noisy for her to sleep. So too bad she got to stay there instead. So you see, home is always the best.

Tonight there will be a feast with my dad & the gals... Going for spanish food. Hopefully with our dressing today, we are able to get into the place.. If not, we will have to hang out at Chomp Chomp for dinner. But it will still be good... As Chomp Chomp got a variety of food.. and with us 3 musketters... food... GREAT!

Sat will be a busy day... Got to work and then head down to lucky plaza for dinner with PJ... yummy, cheap abalone, sharksfin... *saliva dripping*... Then head down to Indoor Stadium for "Fei Yu Ching" concert. What a day! And sunday will be spending time with Ian and packing as I'll be leaving for KL in the evening. Busy Busy!

Chatted with Carol yesterday and she's dropping by here on May 14. Staying here for 7 days before heading to Bangkok.. She's got loads of catching up to do with her relatives, friends.... She's not been back for 6 years. Lots of changes she will see too.

Ok lah.. Back to my boring filing! *or throw it away* haha

A Kind Soul

Rushed to Aeroline office to get my bus ticket to KL.. YoOhOo! Got quite a good seat though the one I wanted was taken. But overall still good. Msg Jen to see him she wanted to join me for dinner as she suggested earlier this afternoon but she was still with her colleague at body shop.. buying travel size items.. I want also. But only bedok branch have it. :(

Headed to Great World City... Haven't been there for some time. Walked around and got some munchies. The shops are almost the same as the last I was here. Went into a new shop called WH. No idea what that stands for. The shop sells like beach clothes. Alot of pastel colours and sleeveless, shorts, shirts, pyjamas, bags, slippers, etc. There's for everyone.. Male, female and kids too. Decided to get a tee for Laura, Adam & Shin Yee.

Found a nice pink one for Laura. Thin strap with a flower pattern on the front. Couldn't get any for Adam as there weren't many patterns to choose from. For Shin Yee, no size for her as the starting size is 3/4. I was in the shop for almost an hour. There were even plus size clothes. But the prices not cheap either. Almost the same price as other plus size shops. Kept walking around making sure I didn't miss any items.. Checked out the Men's section too... Saw a nice pair of waterproof pants but the price too ex.... Managed to get a windbreaker jacket.

Headed to other shops.. But nothing interesting except for lots of food. Sushi was on half price but lazy to queue for payment as the queue is VERY LONG...

Thus headed for the taxi stand.. OH MAN! Another long queue.. Sigh! Waited almost 30 mins.. still no taxi. The taxis were either 'On Call' or headed to other destinations of their wish. Wanted to call a cab, but my hp battery went FLAT! What a good timing...

A family in front of me waited some time too. The lady kept pressing the taxi button... But still no taxis. Finally one came and the lady asked me where I was going.. And realised that where she was going is Serangoon which is near to mine... So she asked me to join her in the cab. I was shocked at first and declined. But she insisted and saying since it's on the way, no harm joining them.

From their accent, they don't sound local. Found out they are from Hong Kong. Been here for 1 year as the husband works here. The husband & wife looks alike... So cute. The lady was very friendly too. At that moment, I was thinking I met a kind soul. Someone who offered to share the cab. Her reason was "you also waited very long, so since nearby, no problem".

I think for locals won't do it as they might feel uncomfortable sharing with someone they don't know. I just felt warmed upon knowing that there are kind souls around. It made my tired day, a happy day afterall.

Oops! Forgot to get the lady's name. Anyway, Thank you!

My Technician

hehe... Here's Janet, the techician. See how she slowly and carefully analysing the item & pipe. The 1st picture is after everything is done and feeling hot and sweaty but happy! 2nd is my new tap.. Nice hor. The rest are of her in serious action.

We got the old tap out, rush out to the shop to get a new one and returned back. All these in 30 mins. From here I realised that Janet's strength is powerful. Don't see her small size, think she no strength. I'm the one who's no strength.. hehe

Janet, Thanks ALOT!

Good Night!

Yummy Dinner

Yes, my frens & I went for yummy food again... We met up at Orchard MRT. As usual Janet was late. Actually she wasn't late, she was the earliest. But due to the attractive shops at Wisma Atria, got her sway away.

The dinner was worth price. Mostly seafood and it was GOOD! *licking fingers*. The restaurant was located at Shaw Centre called East Ocean Teochew Restaurant.

Oops! Forgot to introduce those at the table. There were 9 of us. Peijun, BB, Jeslin, Jacky, Muicheng, Jen, myself, Janet, Huiyu. Quite a few "tigers" too. You know who you are. After seated, we were served with mini cups of thick chinese tea. I think it's a tradition for teochew restaurant. The taste of the tea was abit bitter. For those who hardly drink tea, might not like it.

Menu
1. Teochew Cold Crab
Been a long time since I had cold crab. It was delicious. The meat was fresh and easy to peel off. The roe was even better... So high cholesterol.. Eeks! Still once in a blue moon... Worry later.
2. Deep Fried Shredded Fillo Dough
It was crispy, flaky on the outside, with fruits or something starchy inside. I didn't quite like it coz of the crispy pieces outside.
3. Peking Duck
The skin was very crispy but enough taste.
4. Double Boiled Shredded Fin Soup w/ Ribs
This soup is very tasty definitely as it's double boiled.
5. Steamed King Scallop with Garlic & Chilli
This was served on a shell, one piece of scallop on top of it covered with garlic and chilli.
6. Steamed Live Soon Hock Fish
Just like any steamed fish.... :)
7. Fish maw & vegetable with Abalone Sauce
Not abalone.. just the sauce. The fish maw was nice but had abit of fishy taste as Jen mentioned. Fish Maw is fish stomach.
8. Braised Noodles with Shredded Duck Meat
By the time this dish arrived, we were all very full. The noodles was saltish. But what the heck, we all still wallop it all up.

The set meal even came with compliment dessert.
1. Fresh Fruit Platter
2. Mini Crispy Egg Tart.
When Peijun said this tart wa good, I didn't believe her till I tried it for myself... I even had 2 pieces... :-P

From the above, are your saliva dripping too? hehe.. The food was good, company was even better. As we've not seen each other for sometime. Plus with Janet around, there's sure to be loads of laughter.

The plan was after dinner to head over to AC. But couldn't as my Dad was unable to join us. So an idea came to my mind... Another hobby of ours other than eating... hehe... KARAOKE! ON AH! Peijun was quick.. started taking out her phone & calling the places which was available. Bobo was amazed by her efficiency!

Upon knowing the venue of the Karaoke, I was like... Oh! Another venue to conquer. Suddenly all the memories came flowing back.... Woah! Jeslin, Jacky and Huiyu headed home while the rest of us headed to Paradize centre.. Boy! My tummy is going to burst. Walking down the hall of rooms was kinda weird. Saw the room where we were last at.. The colours of the chair & rooms were still the same. The walls was light yellow. The chair is black with grey backing. We were assigned to room 77.

Everyone was excited. Thinking of what songs to sing.. Each of us took turns to choose and sing. Jen as usual was choosing English songs. While the rest was chinese. Janet started looking into her hp to search for the titles. I wasn't singing with the mike yet. Too full and too "Stoned". The venue and surroundings just made me keep quiet for a moment. I tried not to let anyone see the "Stoned" side of me so I just laughed along or did whatever I could so I wouldn't think so much. Soon I was singing away. Not very good with the words still but who cares. We aren't professionals.

As the time got nearer, we decided to cut the song short. So Peijun said each of us only allowed to sing half a song. Meaning whenever the song came to a break with no words, PJ would hit the EJECT button. Janet had a taste of that a few times... When she was singing happily, we eject the song.. She gave us the "PIG MOUTH" look.. It was funny! I saw how PJ laughing so hard that it made me laughed too. PJ, myself and Jen were enjoying the eject joke we played on Janet..

As PJ, MC had to work tomorrow, they had to go home... 3 of us stayed behind to continue the singing session. I was more alert and getting so in the crazy mood as my bedtime had already passed. It's like after bedtime is over, the mind works better. So I started choosing the songs I wanna sing. Chose some from Eric Moo, Zhang Xin Zhe... Their songs are alot on reality. And some love songs which are popular in the 1980s, 90s.

As these songs were played and sang, my mood seems to be getting lower. Thought of happy and sad moments. Suddenly I thought of the songs he sang to me. There's were "zhi shao hai you ni, ke ai de mei gui hua, wu yan de jie ju (taboo song), pai pai zhuo, xun meng yuan, a few more which I can't remember. I had these titles in my hp for some time. And somehow I thought if I were to sing it all out now, that would mean it's time for me to erase it all. And the sudden urge was strong. I asked Janet to search for those songs above so I could finish it all at one go.

Maybe it sounds weird like why would I want to un-sing all these songs.. It's hard to explain. I just felt that it was a correct decision and that since I've learnt to let go of the past, then other things that are being kept whether in my hp or other parts of me... I should let it go too. And when I sang the songs, I think I wasn't feeling sad, just singing away my sad memories. But still kept abit of the good ones. But still felt good.

For those who knows me well enough, I'm sure you can understand why I did this and would be happy for me.

It was a damn great night for sure as I've never sang in a karaoke place till 4am... Till the place closed! The staff were already telling it will be the last song and we were still trying to squeeze in as many songs as we could. :-D
But it was fun.. Agree with me, Jen & Janet? We shall do this again.... but next time PJ must join us.

Tomorrow will be another busy day as we heading to JB. BB & Jen will be going for massage... While the "twins" will go shopping! YoOhOo!

Nightmare!

Aiyo! Woke up being worried. I had a nightmare.... I hope it's a bad dream and don't let it come true. I dreamt that I was with Janet & SL at some coffeeshop. I was talking to my finance director... and he said my muslim boss wanted a replacement. To replace me! So SCARY! :'-(

I was talking and asking my director why want to replace me or what have I done to deserve it.. But no answer given.. Stress! Better start working and proofing myself....

Not that I'm not hardworking... just getting abit too comfy and lazy these days... hehe

Environment

How this topic came about as we were talking about one of our fren, SL. PJ said the environment can change the attitude of a person. Sometimes the people we mix with or the surroundings we are in, that could change a person's thinking and actions. Sometimes it's scary to know how a person's thoughts are especially if the thoughts are getting older by the day or older even if the age is young.

I was telling PJ that I'm lucky to have frens of almost all generations from age 10 plus, 20 plus, 30 plus, 40 plus... and my dad's who's 70 plus. As they all knows how to enjoy life no matter what age they are at. Especially my dad who doesn't have the word OLD in his dictionary and never think his age got to be sitting at home doing nothing. The amount of things he does, is not even half of what I do. But still learning from it.

I feel that when a person is happy, everything in life is lifted. There's nothing nobody can't do... As long as there's life, there's always hope and US!

Muicheng, if you are reading this, don't always think you are old in age, if not your mind will one day react to that even more. Age is just a number. It's how you live your life that is important. If you think you are old, then you should hang out with my dad more often. You will definitely feel younger! I'm sure Peijun can say the same.

Good Morning!

SLEEPY!

Aiyo! I need a cup of "wake me up" coffee. Went to Heartland Mall for lunch with my colleagues. Decided to try out this HK cafe that opens 24 hours. We were so hungry so we ordered a few dishes and we can share. had 5 dishes.. Curry Mee Sua, Baked Fish rice with Cheese, Black pepper chicken with Sphagetti, Guo Tie, Fried Rice with Egg... So much carbo! The plate was cute.. Like the olden days porcelain kind with the pattern of the rooster. Doesn't the cup look like those in Hong Kong movies where the ppl in jail uses.. Cute right.. It was Chin Chow Jelly inside... YUM!

It was ala carte.. and the price was below $9 for some dishes. Some were like around $5, which is quite reasonable. Only that they charged for plain water. Cold water at 40 cents and hot water at 20 cents. Bring your own water if you are going to dine there. The drinks were quite expensive though.. The cheapest one is chin chow jelly which was $2.50. The rest were $4 & above.

Ok... back to serious working...

An Email To My DADDDY

22nd March 2006

I've emailed my dad yesterday as it's been weeks since the last I saw of him. Basically both of us have been really busy.. And when I have time, my dad doesn't have time.. So it's like the timings are always clashing together. So I decided to drop him an email. This is what I wrote.

Hey Dad,

How are you? We both have been busy lately so I decided to write to you instead... heehee.. Nothing bad... Just to say HI and update you on what's happening lately.

I've been busy with work.. Sometimes I work late. Some nights I would go exercising.. Either brisk walking or swimming. I go with Janet as she lives nearer to me so easier for her to go home also.

Then on weekends, got lots of plans.. sometimes go prawning. Meaning instead of fishing for fish, it's fishing for prawns. Quite fun lah.. Then after catching prawns, we BBQ it and eat on the spot. Not very big or small, just medium size and yummy.

Or the usual hang outs like movies, shopping, or good and cheap food places...

So that's about it.. Catch up with you when the kids come back next week

Love,
your one & only adorable daughter... :-)

23rd March 2006

I received an email from my dad this morning... And that emailed made me tear.. I'll tell you why.

His reply :

Thank you for this sweet mail. I miss you but I guess we both are struggling. However, hope things will get better from now. Let's catch up for an evening meal sometime but not tomorrow as I am having dinner with Kyn Ng again. See you.. Dad.

*************************************************************************************

For those who knows me, aren't you tearing too? And feeling happy.... haha... I'm so glad I sent out an email. I mean at least it kept us in touch, though it's just words.. A phone call or email or sometimes even just an SMS makes a difference....

Yes, I know what PJ going to comment. Great to know you and your dad are getting along well.. Keep it up! hehe.. Is that what you wanted to say? Almost hor...

Back to work now.

See you gals this Friday.

P.S. One of you got to remind Janet. She almost forgot she meeting us this Friday.

Happy working!

My "DaDdY"

Your Daddy is Arnold Schwarzenegger

What you call him : Papi
(nah! I don't call my daddy by that!)

Why you love him : He takes me to Church
(haha)! That's even more ridiculous! As my dad doesn't go to church....

Lunch Box

Brought my own lunch today. Had it prepared last night... Quite yummy! Learning how to prepare a 1 person portion. But I think I prepared abit too much today until feeling so full now. My lunch box today had cucumbers, mix veg with peas, carrots, corn, hotdog and few pieces of spicy pork. The rice was abit too soft as I've put too much water. Hehehe... Trial & error makes perfect! I bought the LOCK & LOCK tupperware from Cold Storage. Very useful plus it can be re-heated in the mircrowave... Not very expensive and different sizes too. Will be getting another container for soups & noodles...
So I can have different variety of lunches every now and then.

Been rather lazy at work today. Maybe coz my nephew is coming and that I'll be on leave soon. In one of the those holiday moods again.

Heard a pretty nice news in the morning. I was talking to my project co-ordinator about his work and one of the bosses. According to him, one of my boss thinks I'm good. Should be my work lor... Dunno if what he said was true.. I told PJ. She said most likely it's true lor coz she said usually whatever I ask for, they'll agree to it. Heehee... Spurs me on to work harder. It's my 7th month here. Quite comfortable though there are some problems at times but not very major matters.

*YAWN* feeling sleepy now after a heavy lunch...

Cat Lover

This is Janet... with her newfound fren... whose a cat. That lives downstairs my house.

Sky & Clouds

Have you ever looked up at the sky & see what it tells you? Or how the shapes of the clouds are? Try it! You might be able to find or learn something from it.

I was out one of the weekends last week.. Boy! It was a real hot weather. I felt like I was melting under the scorching sun. I think for those who reside here feels the same way as I did. I looked up the sky... And it was beautiful.. It was bright and sunny.. One of the clouds look like an animal. Like a head of a moustache man and legs of an animal.. Or it can be anything you want it to be. It was the light blue sky that attracted me to take a picture.

Later part in the day, it was getting cloudy. All dark, no shapes in the clouds. The weather changes fast just like a person's mood. The sky can actually affect someone's mood. It's like when it's all bright & sunny, everyone can come out to play. But having cloudy sky have it's good points too... When it rains, we won't be feeling so hot nor melted.. hehe....

There's always good points & bad points to everything in life. It just depends on how we view it.

Take time to appreciate your surroundings and the planet we live in.

It's Been A Long Time, Fellas!

Woah! Just realised how long it's been since I last blog... Not that there weren't anything interesting since end February. The problem that there were ALOT of happenings just no time or too tired to even type them out.

I'm hardly at home or too tired to turn on the pc after work. I mean it's like you face the pc 8 hours in the day and night time still want to stare at the computer meh??!! Nah!

Been going to quite a few movies lately. Brokeback Mountain was nice, though abit slow motion. But the storyline was good and touching. If you are those conservatives kind of person, doubt you will enjoy this show. Just yesterday I went for a preview of V for Vendetta. Good movie too.. The sound effects were solid! The movie starts today. Natalie Portman is a good actress. The part where she had to shave off her head was cool. She looks good too. This show is very recommended! The newspaper today shows 4 stars too. Plus the movie ticket was free. So if anything is free, it's also good, agree Jen?

Went to the firefly tour last sunday. It's my first time seeing fireflies.. It's like they decorating the trees with lights.. very beautiful. I won't be writing much on that as Jen have already posted on on her blog. For those who knows what the blog is, enjoy reading.

Right now I'm blogging during lunch hour... As usual the bosses not around, so extending the lunch time a little bit longer... *eat snake*

I'm going brisk walking with Janet later. Last week we walked from AMK to Chomp Chomp. We took a long route that ended up really tiring. The journey to & fro took us almost 3 hours including makan time. Today we shall choose a shorter route, maybe around my area. But still get to makan along the way. heehee.. hard to resist food lah.... But must still control.

I've just applied for leave for next month. Will be heading to KL / Ipoh on 3 April and be back on 7 April. For those reading this blog, I know you all will MISS me!! hehe.... *thick skin* I'll bring munchies back for you gals.

Ian & Ella are coming end March and staying till around May. It will be another fun months for all of us. Ella turns 1 yr old this Sat....

Ok lah.. got to go back to work liao...

Cheers!
